End-of-year checklist
❗Important
Be sure to return all textbooks, class materials, Chromebooks (if required) and library books to avoid fines.
🎓 Graduation ceremonies
Graduation information is available on the district website. The location of the outdoor ceremonies will be shared on June 1.
If you know a graduating senior interested in being part of this year’s grad highlights featured by the district, please fill out this form (requires logging in).
📃 Report cards and state test scores
Second semester report cards and individualized education program progress reports (if applicable) will be available to view in Skyward by June 17. Get instructions for viewing these items. Accessing the portfolio in a web browser is recommended. Paper report cards will not be mailed to every family, but will still be available if requested. Parents/guardians may request a printed report card from the school office before it closes for the summer or after it reopens in August. Only Transitional Kindergarten and kindergarten reports will be sent home in backpacks. Some alternative learning schools will share grades/progress updates via different systems. Note: Skyward access will not be available July 7-11.
Students’ Smarter Balanced state test scores will be available in June. Please watch for more information about accessing your child’s results.
💻 Chromebooks and Google accounts
See the guidelines for Chromebook return or summer use by school and grade. All student Google accounts will be unavailable July 6 through Aug. 14 unless a student is involved in summer credit recovery.
➕ Summer credit recovery options
High school credit recovery is available to current high schoolers, including high school seniors, who want to earn credit for a course they failed. Current eighth grade students may also recover credit for the Washington state history requirement. Learn more and register for credit recovery. Due to budget challenges, BGPS will not offer courses for original credit this summer or summer school for kindergarten through eighth grade. Only credit recovery will be available.

New student enrollment for the 2026-27 school year will continue to be available during the summer, except for July 7-11.
🚌 Bus transportation request and health information collection forms
Log into Skyward and complete the bus transportation request and health information collection forms for the 2026-27 school year. The first two are required forms to indicate whether your child needs to ride a bus to school and to share information about any health conditions. The Ft. Vancouver Regional Library form also is available, but is required only if you wish to opt your child out of the ConnectFVRL program. Note: Skyward access will not be available July 7-11.
👕 🏠 Clothes Closet clean-out and housing support for students, families
The Family and Community Resource Center will hold a clothes closet cleanout event June 11-12 with free gently used clothing and shoes for BGPS students and families. No appointment needed. Get the details.
Families of students who have experienced housing instability or a loss of housing and are receiving McKinney-Vento services will receive a separate call and/or email to verify their housing and contact information. Children ages 5 or younger can also receive support with attending preschool. Learn more and reach out to a liaison.
🗓️ Save the date: Listening session
Join district leaders and school board members for a discussion about planning for the financial future of BGPS schools, including budget priorities and future educational programs and operations levies. Financial stability is critical to bringing change to the district and preparing students for their future.
This event is open to the public and everyone is welcome. No RSVP is required.

Summer hours, activities and support for students and families
🕛 Office hours
School offices: Primary and middle school offices will be closed to the public after June 18. High school offices will be closed to the public after June 25. All school offices will reopen with limited hours starting Wednesday, Aug. 5. Visit the school and district hours webpage for details.
District office: The district office will be closed to the public June 29 through July 24. It will be open Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., from July 27 through Aug. 13, returning to regular hours on Monday, Aug. 17.
The Family and Community Resource Center will be closed June 11 through Aug. 31 and will reopen on Sept. 1.
🏃➡️ Summer camps and activities
Battle Ground Community Education will offer a variety of classes and summer camps for kids of all ages. To see a full list of available camps and register, visit the Battle Ground Community Education website.
Right at School will offer summer camps at Tukes Valley Primary and Glenwood Heights Primary on Monday through Friday, from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. A state program called Working Connections Child Care may be able to help you cover the cost of this camp. Learn more.

🍎 Support for students and families
Free summer meals will be available for kids and teens ages 18 and younger
Dates: Monday through Friday, June 15, through Aug. 20 (except for July 1-3).
Time: 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
Location: CAM Academy, 406 NW 5th Ave., Battle Ground. All meals must be consumed onsite.
SUN Bucks: In 2026, Washington families may be able to receive $120 per eligible child to purchase groceries during the summer months, when school is out of session, through the SUN Bucks program. Benefits are loaded onto SUN Bucks cards for each eligible child and mailed to the family’s home. SUN Bucks benefits can be used to buy food like fruits, vegetables, meat, whole grains, dairy and more at grocery stores, farmers markets and other places that accept EBT benefits.
How to enroll: Some children are automatically enrolled, while others need to submit an application. Use this online screening tool to determine whether you need to submit an application.
If you did not receive a SUN Bucks card, you can still apply during the summer at sunbucks.dshs.wa.gov.

What to know for fall
📅 Calendar information
First day of school: Tuesday, Sept. 1, for first through 12th grades. Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten students will have a staggered start to help students get acclimated to the school environment on the first days of school. The first full day of school for kindergartners and transitional kindergartners is Friday, Sept. 11.

☑️ Annual student update and health information
Watch for the required annual student update in early August. Every family must complete all required forms prior to the start of the school year.
Washington state law requires certain immunizations against childhood diseases for all students, regardless of age, who attend a public or private school or a licensed day care center. Confirm that your child meets Washington state immunization requirements or provide a certificate of exemption.
✏️ School supply lists
School supply lists will be updated on the district website over the summer.
Students who need support with school supplies will be able to receive a free backpack with limited supplies thanks to the generosity of our community through the Battle Ground Education Foundation and the Family and Community Resource Center. Backpacks will be available at school offices by the first day of school.
🚌Bus information
Make sure your bus transportation selection is up to date in Skyward.
If your child(ren) were signed up for bus transportation this year, your stop will automatically be routed for the 2026-27 school year.
If your child is moving up to a new school, is eligible for transportation and needs to start riding the bus, please opt in via Skyward.
If your child has an alternate stop that will change for the 2026-27 school year, please contact the district’s transportation office at 360-885-6577 or First Student at 360-841-7099. Otherwise, your child will be dropped off at the previous alternate stop.
Bus routes are typically available in Skyward the week before school begins. The FirstView bus tracking app makes it easy to find your routes, view near real-time location data, receive notifications about delays or cancellations and much more. The code for families to sign up is K1Q0K.
📱Cellphones and technology
Schools will continue to enforce cellphone guidelines. See more information about what is allowed.
For the 2026-27 school year, primary and middle schools will use Chromebook carts. Middle school students will no longer receive individual Chromebooks to take home. High school students will still receive Chromebooks, however, as will students from some alternative learning environments. Learn more about this change.
⭐Before/after-school care and support for students and families
Battle Ground offers a variety of preschool options for children under the age of 5. Learn more.
Right At School will continue to provide before/after-school care at most primary school locations.
Students who have experienced housing instability or a loss of housing (even for just one night during the school year) may be eligible to receive McKinney-Vento services. These services include continued attendance at their current school, full participation in school-related activities, transportation to and from school, free school meals and academic support. Contact the Family and Community Resource Center to learn more.
The center also maintains a clothing closet with donated clothing and shoes as well as hygiene and household items, some cleaning supplies and school supplies. The closet will be available to any student currently enrolled in a BGPS school and their family and is expected to reopen in mid-September.
🏀 Sports
Sports participation fees will increase to $150 per sport regardless of the number of sports a student participates in during the school year.
