Green Holidays

Before we leave for Winter Break, I’d like to remind you that across the country the amount of household waste (trash) increases by 25% during the five weeks between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day, that’s about one million extra tons (2 trillion pounds) of garbage each week. That’s a lot of trash! What can we do about it? Actually plenty. Contact Mrs. Potter and arrange to visit Nature Notebooks (3rd block room 12) or Family Gardening K-4 (4th block room 2) or Family Gardening 4-8 (5th block room 2) for a lesson focused on Green Holidays. Join us on Wednesday December 18 for waste reduction projects. If you’d like to participate in one of our projects, bring an orange (either regular sized or “cutie”). Mrs. Potter is also collecting used greeting cards (any kind), old calendars with pictures, ribbon and bows for future projects.

ASB will be hosting a viewing of the Polar Express December 13th in the small gym. Tickets are on sale in the ASB office. Concessions will be available. Come enjoy some hot chocolate and take home a bell!
